Scrapbooksteals.com April Blog Hop

Click Here for the Kiwi Lane Blog Hop

Welcome! I am so happy to have you here today for the Scrapbooksteals.com Blog Hop! I was so excited when I found out I would be working with the Studio Calico Wood Veneers. They are one of my favorite scrapbooking embellishments and they come in so many different designs.  One of my favorite things about them is that the possibilities are endless. I was sent the Scalloped Circles and I couldn't have been happier.

For the blog hop, I decided to use Stickles to create some fun Spring decor.

I grabbed some paper, chipboard letters, wire, Stickles, wood block, and my wood veneers and got to work. My hubby was sweet enough to drill 5 holes in the block for me and it was pretty easy assembly after that.

Before I covered the veneers is Stickles, I laid them out and attached wire to the back using E600. After the glue was dry, I applied the Stickles and let dry overnight. While those are drying, I cut my paper to size, applied it with some spray adhesive and let dry. After a few minutes, I sanded down the paper edges and inked them.  After applied the letters, I let it sit overnight. The next day i just found the holes, stuck some E600 in along with the flowers and let dry. (Just to be on the safe side, I put more glue in the holes as the other glue slid into the hole. Those flowers aren't going anywhere!)

Besides home decor projects, these veneers were so fun to use on cards and layouts.

If you haven't tried the wood veneers yet, you are missing out. Head on over and steal some and then keep hopping! These ladies have some wonderful projects if you are still on the fence about them. You won't be sorry!

Kiwi Lane April Blog Hop

Welcome! Welcome! I am so happy to have you here today! Thanks for joining me from Marisa's blog. I hope that you are having a ton of fun on this hop and enjoying all the great ideas. I love seeing what everyone creates.

The featured templates for the month at Kiwi Lane Designs are Chestnut Drive, Celebrate, and Tiny Floral. All three are fabulous and were so much fun to use that I couldn't help but use some from all 3 sets.

Tiny Floral are such great flowers and really fun to use on so much. I love how flowers look good on pretty much everything!

With banners being all the rage these days, I love using the banner from Celebrate. To get the stacked looked, I just traced 2 and trimmed one a little smaller. The same thing can be done with any of the templates for a nice layered look.

Using just the Chestnut Drive borders, I was able to create a fun layered look. If you are new to Kiwi Lane, sit down and play with some. All of the borders work great together for layering. Tons of fun!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to keep hopping along and leaving comments.  A  random winner from ONE of the 10 blogs (including the Kiwi Lane blog), will be given a $25 gift certificate to the Kiwi Lane Shop, for leaving a comment. How awesome is that!

What I've been working on.

Here are some of the layouts I have been working on lately. Most, if not all, of the sketches are from Scrapbooksteals.com by Kristy Lee or other guest sketchers. I have them all printed out and in a binder for easy access when I need them.

(Please excuse International being spelled wrong. I just now realized it. I better go fix it. )

Fancy Pants "Little Sprout" Baby Album

I have the tendency to by paper collections because I love the manufacturer. That is the case with Fancy Pants Designs. I love their collections and have quite a few hanging out in my scrap room. Quite a while ago I purchased the "Little Sprout" layout kit from Scrapbooksteals.com.  I knew that because it was from Fancy Pants, it would be great quality. Unfortunately, I just don't have enough hours in the day and it sat unused.  As I was looking through my stash, I came across the "Little Sprouts" Journal Notebook. (Enter brilliant idea!)

I am always needing baby shower gifts and a baby girl mini album is the perfect answer!

I left the cream square blank so it can easily be customized with the baby's name.

These are some of my favorite pages. There are 24 journal pages in the notebook and spots for 28 photos so I just couldn't include them all. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Remember, if you aren't a follower of my blog, be sure to become a follower via Google Friend Connect becausue I am just 9 followers away from a fabulous blog prize!

See you next time!
